The Lord Jesus Christ says

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit” (John 12:24). A corn of wheat that is so much treasured and kept unplanted by a farmer will abide alone and brings forth no fruits. People who keep their lives, hold them so tight to themselves and will not surrender them to the Lord, will not bring forth fruits. But once the corn of wheat is planted it dies to live, with the end result of bringing forth fruits. Except your life is planted in Christ and dies, it will abide alone. Your self, selfishness, self-management, self-exultation, and the pride of heart have to die.

When your life is consecrated unto Christ, then your will, your interests, your passions, and mission will be swallowed up in those of Jesus Christ. You would then be able to say like Apostle Paul, "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me" (Gal.2:20).
